2024-25 NBA championship odds: Celtics, Thunder favored

The NBA season is nearing its halfway point.

Let’s check in with Jason McIntyre for some future picks starting November 12th.
New York Knicks: +1000 (at time of selection)
The Knicks’ odds mysteriously dropped from +725 to +1000 a few weeks into the season. I have to grab this. The Knicks have two new starters and two guys playing some minutes off the bench who weren’t with the team last year. Unlike the Celtics, that’s a lot of new faces. They also have two key rotation starters to get healthy (Precious Achiuwa, and Mitchell Robinson). Completely, this team will be a real problem for the Celtics.
Denver Nuggets: +1100 (at time of selection)
I’m looking for value, and since the Nuggets were +750, but the market is selling them due to a slow start, of course, I’ll take the team with the best big man in the league. The Nuggets started 0-2, then Nikola Jokic decided he would do everything for the team because this situation was unacceptable.
Jokic now leads the Nuggets in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. But more importantly, Michael Malone seems to welcome young people, and if he wants to play Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther for more than 20 minutes a night, that’s a great sign for the future.
Milwaukee Bucks: +3000 (at time of selection)
I didn’t like how the Bucks came this season, and they were miserable early on. The guard play has been terrible – they recently started Ryan Rollins and AJ Green at guard; they’re barely rotational guys in the NBA — and injuries are a problem. But if you’re looking for a silver lining, they still have Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Perfect storm scenario: Khris Middleton returns healthy and close to his old form; Gary Trent Jr. becomes the star everyone thought he would be in high school; Former UConn star Andre Jackson is emerging as the all-around talent he should be.
